Louise Manico, MCIPR
If you’ve had a look at the website, you’ll have seen that Manico PR specialises in helping organisations tell others about all the good things they’re doing.
Here seemed a good place to tell you a little bit more about how it all came about.
I founded Manico PR in 2018 so that I could put all the knowledge and experience I have in Public Relations into practice, while being more flexible so my work and personal life could fit around each other.
Have you ever read something which has moved you to tears, made you laugh out loud or inspired you to take that leap of faith?
As an added bonus, it has allowed me to focus on the things I really care about – I’ve always been the kind of person who wants to help others and have been involved with various charities at different levels. You might recognise me from bucket-rattling in a town centre or running around on the Hospital Radio Plymouth Showstage!
While I’ve loved working for large organisations in the past, and have learnt a lot from them, working independently is allowing me to concentrate on individuals or small businesses who are making a real difference to others. Hopefully my work helps them to increase the positive impact they’re having on the world.
My other love is dance, something which I only discovered a bit later on in my life. I sit on the committee of the Early Dance Circle, the national organisation for historical dance, and love finding out about other forms of dance and performance art. I think art has the power to take people to another place – it can help to reveal emotions, develop confidence or just help someone have a laugh.
There’s a parallel between these art forms and writing – have you ever read something which has moved you to tears, made you laugh out loud or inspired you to take that leap of faith?
I really believe the right words in the right place can have a massive impact on people, and it’s that I want to be able to do with Manico PR.
